It is undeniable that the presence of private colleges has brought students many choices to get an education, besides public ones. In my viewpoint, however, attending a community college is superior to studying at a private college.

Thân Bài 1

Firstly, the foremost reason why many people prefer to study at public colleges is affordable studying expenses. In general, the tuition fees of most public schools are considered affordable to many people, even those with low socioeconomic backgrounds. In a developing country in Vietnam, it seems difficult for many families to cover expensive studying expenses once their children get a private college education. Besides, government colleges are likely to charge other service fees at an affordable price, such as costs of uniforms, textbooks, parking, and even accommodation, if any.

Secondly, it would appear that studying at a community college helps raise a sense of community among students. It is undeniable that many people place a high priority on attending a public college after graduating from high schools. This means community colleges grab students’ attention who are cosmopolitan people throughout a country. When studying in an environment with a variety of cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and social classes, students can easily raise a sense of community and socialize with others. In this way, they might practice essential skills for their later life as adults. 

Thân Bài 3

Finally, the convenience of location is a decisive key to many people’s choice to attend community colleges. Take Vietnam as an example, the number of government colleges is occupying the majority in the university education system. As a result, almost all areas have at least a community college, whereas it is not always the case when it comes to private colleges. Therefore, students hardly ever have difficulty opting for a place to get a college education. Not only does this make sense in terms of education, but it is also beneficial to students’ lives who want to live near their family. They can both attend colleges and visit their family on a regular basis rather than choosing a private college at a long distance without spending more time with their family.

For the aforementioned benefits, it is my firm conviction that I would rather attend a public college than study at a private one. (373 words)
