Nowadays, many prisons are being erected to keep the people committing crimes, which makes some people think that permanent imprisonment is the response to crime problems while others opine that some supports in terms of medicine and psychology should be implemented. While admitting the feasibility of both opinions, I think governments should do a mixture of both.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that imprisonment plays an integral part in the campaign against crimes. This punitive measure has contributed to preventing the proliferation of an array of dangerous crimes like murder, rape, or drug possession. Criminals should be kept in prison; thereupon, the crime problems in society are mitigated and citizens might have a sense of safety for their work, life, and even business. Also, this acts as a severe deterrent to those likely to learn the hard way from criminals. They have to weigh up the drawbacks once becoming criminals, especially facing being sentenced to many years in jail resulting in the loss of freedom.   

Thân Bài 2

On the other hand; however, it is also worthwhile to undertake simultaneously medical and psychological assistance for the criminals kept in prisons. Justifiably, they still have human rights to continue living, so medical supports are inevitable for them to overcome adversities concerning injuries and physical well-being. Thereby combining both imprisonment and this are beneficial to the campaign against crimes and the protection for human rights. 

Besides, the main purpose of punishment is to educate criminals not to revert to mistakes in the past and repent for their actions, we might not overlook the assistance related to psychology. This method is advantageous to mental activities that make sense in helping them not be obsessed with their guilt and easily integrate with the community after released.

For the reasons mentioned above, it seems to me that not only are prisons constructed with long-term imprisonments for crimes, but governments should  also assist them in terms of medicine and psychology. (327 words)
