Câu hỏi : Children nowadays watch significantly more television than in the past, which reduces their activities levels accordingly. Why is this the case? What measures can you suggest to encourage higher levels of activity among children? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience.

There is an increasing concern among people that children these days expend more time in watching television than ever before, so they spend little time on activities. While indicating some causes for this, this essay also mentions several solutions to stimulate children to partake in activities.
Thân Bài 1
On the one hand, it is undeniable that a television brings boys and girls a rich variety of shows that meet almost all their needs in terms of studying and entertainment. Nowadays, it is not difficult to draw children’s attention by cartoons, songs, or even academic learning programs. This form of entertainment is convenient, various, and less time-consuming compared to devoting much time to traditional games or outdoor activities. Also, the breakthrough in technology has stepped in for supplementing studying programs with a television. Beside studying at schools, they now can furnish themselves with many lessons like Math, English, Science at the same time, which most parents are not reluctant to advocate.
Thân Bài 2
On the other hand, sparing time on activities are also too important to be neglected; therefore, several measures need considering. First, taking part in extra-curricular activities at schools should be mandatory. This way seems to both partly make up for the time children spend on television at home and arouse their excitement of activities after tiring school. Second, a moderate control of parents in terms of television watching time is also necessary. They should enact a severe ban on a sedentary lifestyle like watching television too much and encourage their offspring to play sports, chatting with friends.
Finally, it is worthwhile to gave children a sense of achievement once they participate in and complete a certain activity. Most of them are keen on credits and recognition, so parents and teachers should not overlook this to help them become confident and interested in activities.

In conclusion, various programs and the purpose of entertainment bear the testimony to the increase in time children spend on television. However, the aforementioned measures make sense in an effort to encourage them to engaged in activities. (332 words)
