Task 1 (Cambridge 10 Test 2 IELTS Writing)
Câu hỏi : The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and banana in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Initially, there was an considerable increase in the sales of coffee in the UK, from 1.5 in 1999 to 20 million euros in 2004 which helped the UK hold the top rank in the surveyed countries. The figures for Switzerland and Belgium were 3 and 1 in 1999 compared to 6 and 1.7 million euros in 2004. Denmark and Sweden underwent the least improvement with 1.8 and 0.8 in 1999 in comparison to 2 and 1 million euros in 2004.
Meanwhile, the number of banana made a purchase went up greatly to 32 million euros, from just 15 in 1999 to 47 in 2004. The figures for the UK and Belgium climbed quite negligibly from 1 and 0.6 by comparison with 5.5 and 4 million euros, respectively. However, there was an inverse trend in the sales of banana in Sweden and Denmark with 1.8 and 2 in 1999 before going down 1 and 0.9 million euros in 2004. (228 words)

Câu hỏi : Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

In the eyes of some people, all university students ought to learn things in which they have interest whilst others opine that we need to impose specific subjects on them advantageous for their future as science and technology. In my point of view, it is worthwhile to design a broadly based and flexible curriculum for students.
Thân Bài 1
On the one hand, absorbing whatever students like helps arouse their curiosity and enthusiasm. Evidence suggests most learners delight in researching matters they take a vivid interest in them. In place of spending time on boring subjects resulting in representative studying by rote learning, for example, inspirational issues might be effective in arousing learners’ enthusiasm. Also, once having access to satisfactory subjects, students could think out of the box while researching and processing involved information, thereby stepping in for improving their critical thinking and problem-solving skill.
Thân Bài 2
On the other hand, it is undeniable that subjects concerning science and technology are beneficial to students in the long run. Should all students only learn things they prefer, it is likely that those do not make sense in preparing for their future life. Contemporary subjects like science and technology help furnish themselves with theoretical and hands-on knowledge such as operating a household machine, bearing in their mind knowledge of physics or chemistry to explain natural phenomenons happening around them. Moreover, having excellent command of such useful subjects could help students land decent jobs after their graduation. The more increasing the number of university students is, the more competitive the labor market becomes. Most recruiters expect candidates to be knowledgeable about both aspects they know and important subjects like that.

In conclusion, in light of the aforementioned reasons, we had better develop a curriculum that students can learn both forms, compulsory and optional subjects. Compelling attention should be paid to subjects regarding science and technology in students’ semesters that act as a requirement for graduating. Besides, they need take aspects into account whether they are keen on researching during their student life. (332 words)
