Some people think that it is worthwhile for children to collaborate in place of competing with their peers. I subscribe to this view since the collaboration outweighs the competitiveness for children.  

Thân Bài 1

On the one hand, a sense of competitiveness is quite detrimental to youngsters. Not only does it put them under a lot of strains to become winners, but it also has negative effects on their mental activities. For example, when a child would like to get the highest grades in exams or competitions, they would become nervous; thereupon, they have to spend much time absorbing much knowledge rather than refreshing their mind for better performance. Besides, this trend might lead to negative behaviors when children are grown up, which is often considered as a sense of achievement at all costs. Take business as an example, businessmen with the pressure of clinching deals or wins against their rivals, they may have unfair competitiveness or even frauds on the market.

On the other hand, competing with their mates avails children in terms of some aspects. First, offspring could pick up precious lessons while working with their friends. They would know how to work well in groups and treat other people respectfully, which is difficult for them to realize once they just make every effort to compete with others. Second, there is an intimate connection between cooperating with others and the possibility of broadening children’s minds. When they are in a group or team, they could work and exchange ideas to address many issues, so they could furnish themselves with useful knowledge or skills.  

Thân Bài 3

Moreover, interacting with one’s friends plays an integral part in expand juveniles‘ relationships, especially children. The more time they spend with their mates on some activities at school like discussing a subject or cooperating with each other in a competition, the more chances they could get to cement their connections with their friends. Also, they could make friends  with new people through their communication skills enhanced day in, day out. Collaboration helps them build confidence to become sociable and embrace new relationships in their lives.

For the aforementioned reasons, I believe that children had better collaborate in lieu of competing with their mates. (366 words)
