Task 2 (Cambridge 13 Test 3 IELTS Writing)
Câu hỏi : Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Mở Bài
There is a widely held view among people that History is considered to be an extremely important subject whilst others opine that subjects of Science and Technology outweigh History nowadays. While admitting benefits these bring us, I tend towards the viewpoint that they have equal importance.
Thân Bài 1
On the one hand, History plays a vital part in almost all education systems across the world. Indeed, History helps furnish students with a body of knowledge and facts in terms of the course of history in many fields. In this way, learners could have a vivid understanding of the context of technology, science, culture, economy which definitely have an intimate connection with history. Also, it is worthwhile to learn knowledge of history with respect to our forebears’ national construction and defense. Evidence suggests we can derive precious lessons from their experience for the development of the country and other fields nowadays.
Thân Bài 2
On the other hand, Science and Technology have been pondered to be subjects of unique merits interlinking themselves with History. When students absorb the heritage of culture or medicine in History, they could inherit it and continually devise new inventions for science and technology. Take a good example, scientific achievements of treatment for nasty diseases like cancer, dementia or diabetes are the tangible results of studying and distilling facts from history. Moreover, justifiably, should we desire to pass these achievements down from generation to generation, it is deserved teaching them to students by History. As a result, History plays a prominent part in preserving them in the long run.
Kết Bài
In conclusion, it seems to me that we had better pay undivided attention to both History and other school subjects like Science and Technology these days. (283 words)
